Cowskin Rental & Campground offers fun for the whole family. We are located on Elk River Bridge - Highway 43 west of Anderson, Missouri. We are about 35 miles south of Joplin, MO on Hwy.43 & Elk River Bridge. 13 miles East of Grove, OK. Appx.37 miles from Rogers, AR. 69 miles from Pittsburg, KS. Springfield, MO is roughly 98 miles and Kansas City is about 192 miles. Tulsa, OK is 95 miles East, and Fayetteville, AR is roughly 58 miles. Wichita, KS is 300 miles and St. Louis, MO is 312 miles. Just to name a few distances that our customers come from .At Cowskin Canoe Rental & Campground you can rent a canoe for either our 10 mile trip or our 3 mile trip and enjoy the day !Take as much time as you would like!

Or just spend the day on the beach! Picnic on our campground! Play HorseShoes on the Beach! Enjoy a Burger from Pnuts Biker Food Bar available each weekend! These are the Best Burgers on Elk River! 1/3 lb. Fresh ground Chuck, Cheese,Fresh Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, pickle, and Pnuts home fries! It's a meal in itself!!! Ice cold drinks, Homemade Biscuits and Sausage Gravy, Deep fried mushrooms, just to name a few of the delicious food you can enjoy! Both float trips offer exceptional beauty ! We also offer OverNight Float Trips!Take our 10 mile trip and enjoy the Beautiful Bluffs along the way! Camp on the Gravel Bars , build a fire and continue your float down the Elk River in the morning! Or if you would like a longer float, we do offer a 16 mile float! You will have to cross the dam so please keep this in mind! We are the only ones who float the Lower end of Elk River, so if you are looking for less water traffic,a place you can enjoy peacefully, fishing at it's best, then Cowskins where you want to be! You will float right back to the Campground where your vehicle is parked, so there is No Waiting At The End! It Doesn't get any better than this! If you would like to float Down River, towards Grand Lake of The Cherokees OK. we only ask that you give us notice, and be familiar with the River! You must give a time to be picked up !!! There is a designated pick-up point! If you would like to bring your own Canoes, or Kayaks we have a Shuttle Service available!

Fishing for Smallmouth Bass, Catfish, Brownies and Bluegill are some of the abundant fish in Elk River. We have Fly Fisherman who come from all over to fish our lower end of the Elk!

We have Electric and Water hook-ups for RV's as well as our Tent campers. Dump station on site.

Hot Showers & Restrooms available for our Campers and canoers!

Cowskin Canoe Rental and Campground also offers a Swim Beach open for daily use to the public, until 8pm. After 8 pm the beach is closed to the public and our campers are encouraged to enjoy the beach to themselves!! The Fishing is awesome! I might add that a few years ago, a fisherman caught a 15 lb. hybrid just up river from the campground! He received Angler of the Year! Right here on Elk River @ Cowskins Canoe Rental & Campround!

If you've heard of Cowskins, then you know about Our Rallies! This is our 19th year! May 8-11 2008! We plan to continue having our Rallies every year, so please plan on being here! We Have Never Cancelled a Rally and we don't intend to, so mark your calendars! They are Always held on the 2nd weekends of may and the 2nd weekends of Sept! Thanks!
